Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our business team! This role will support our Accounting Lead with daily accounting operations, including billing, payroll, invoicing, and financial recordkeeping. As a Staff Accountant, you will work closely with the Accounting Lead and Accounting Assistant to provide excellent service to team members and clients alike. 

The Ideal Person for this role is:

• Has a solid understanding of basic accounting principles.

Location: Davenport, IA. This is a hybrid role. Most work can be completed from home, but the ability to work at our HQ office in Davenport, IA is required for tasks such as inventory audits and PTO coverage. 

Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM CST, Monday through Friday 

Salary: $50,000 to $60,000 annually

Key Responsibilities:

• Embody the Medix Dental IT values in every aspect of your work.
• Billing Duties: 
  • Review and close service tickets for billing.  
  • Set up new agreements and add additions to existing agreements.
  • Assist and resolve billing questions from other departments and partners. 
  • Serve as a back up to the Accounting Lead on partner invoicing. 
• Payroll: Serve as a back up to the Accounting Lead on running payroll , ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Data Entry & Documentation: Maintain organized files of financial records and documents. Ensure that all data entries are accurate and complete.
• Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Record Transactions: Accurately record financial transactions in accounting software
• Assist with Audits: Assist with internal audits as needed
• Support Senior Accountants: Provide general support to the Accounting Lead
• Maintain Accounting Software: Assist in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the accounting software and records.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications 

• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with QuickBooks and Excel required.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members, vendors, and partners.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail. This is a must!
